Get to know the photographer

I’ve always had a camera in my hand. From filling disposable cameras at summer camp to taking way too many sunset pictures on my first Nokia phone, photography has always been part of me.

But funny enough, it didn’t come naturally at first. I actually struggled in my first photography class and almost gave up completely.

Then I brought my camera to the Darryl Starbird car show, and everything clicked. I started photographing cars and pin-up models, met some incredible people who encouraged me, and quickly realized this was exactly what I wanted to do.

I eventually stepped in front of the camera as a pin-up model myself, and that completely changed the way I photograph people. I learned how important it is to feel comfortable, confident, and guided instead of wondering, “What the heck do I do with my hands?”

That’s still the heart of Marissa Rose Photography today. Whether you’re a mama who hates pictures of herself, a senior who has no clue how to pose, or a couple who feels awkward in front of a camera. I’m here to guide you, hype you up, and make it FUN.

What started as something I almost gave up on turned into the business I love today.
